Late addition to June- I just found part of the journal I’d written on paper so I’ll include this last part of June in the July journal.
June 29-Foggy again-hard to believe. Today we’re off to Nova Scotia aboard ‘The Cat’. This ship makes the 110 mile trip from Bar Harbor to Nova Scotia in about 3 hours. Average cruising speed is about 40 miles per hour which seems pretty fast on water and especially fast knowing that the ship is carrying 50 cars, 200 people and a motor cycle gang.
With the fog, visibility was minimal and we had settled into dealing with yet another day without sunshine. Even as we entered Yarmouth Harbor, NS the fog was still as heavy as usual. Then miracles of miracles the fog just lifted within a matter of about 20 minutes. Man did the sun feel good. And just in time for our tour of the local sites of Yarmouth. Hard to believe one little town of about 8,000 could have so many stories. Everything from being a summer destination for Babe Ruth to summer homes owned by the founder of the Fuller Brush Company (for those of you old enough to even know what the Fuller Brush Company was). Along with these claims to fame we also learned that the song, “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas” was written here in the lobby of the Grand Hotel. Remember the Line-‘There’s a tree in the Grand Hotel and one in the park as well’? The Grand Hotel is right across the street from Frosty Park of which the song noted.
Our tour was highlighted by a tour of the Yarmouth Light House. Technology has long  since relegated the light house to a beautiful icon of times past. With the help of a local society the light house has been preserved and still stands to shed light on a more romantic past. A time when wives paced their widow walks, eyes straining to sight their ship’s captain returning from a long voyage at sea knowing that the light house would safely deliver their true loves past the dangerous rocks that were the last challenge to their safe return.

Off to spend the weekend with Matt in Florida. It's been a long time since I've been to his place in St. Pete Beach.

The flight was uneventful, which the way I like flights. My only moment of duhh was that I was in the middle seat and forgot to bring anything to read and left my iPod in my laptop case which I had stowed in the upper bin. So...I had 2 1/2 hours of thinking. Which in my case is problimatic since I have about 30 minutes worth of thoughts. I did come up with a few ideas for work and a 'maybe' for the future. I wouldn't mind getting into an outdoor adventures project for youth in our area. I know I'm a better person for having experienced the lessons that nature can teach you.

Matt and I got up early for some McDonald's Coffee and a sunrise photo. The beach at sunrise seems to come alive with nature. All sorts of birds looking for breakfast.
