Fall Color Gallery

Cedar naturally turns to grey if left untreated so we have the 'treat' of restaining the cabin this weekend. The staining part is not hard and goes on fairly easy. It's the prepartion work that is a pain. You have to scrub and rinse the walls to get off all the grit and sometimes mold that is part of having a structure in the middle of the woods. But, hey it's a beautiful day with temps in the 60's and we have good friends to work with. Bob had actually found someone who was selling their scaffolding for $50 a section so we had a sturdy platform for the high ends of the cabin. We worked hard from 10 till about 5 and got about 80% of the cabin finished. It was a great day to be outside. The color in the leaves were at their peak and their were enough comical moments during the day to keep us all in a great spirits.

Just a little sore this morning. All the climbing up and down ladders and scaffolding took it's toll on this old body. Guess I need to hit the trails a little more often.
