Bluff Spring Journal
Feb 2012
While there were few clouds in the sky I decided I needed to clear a few clouds in my head and go in search of a sunrise picture. My lovely bride has left me and ventured north to Jefferson City today so I have decided to make good use of the time we're apart and get some pixels on the card.
After hiking a short distance and shimming (hope that's a word) under a fence I arrived at my predetermined destination atop a 100ft bluff above Lake Springfield. I had determined with the help of a sun tracking app that the sun would be in position across the lake that held the promise of a interesting photo. It was good to just sit and wait for the sun to make it's appearance. I could see cars in the distance making their way in ant like fashion to their appointed destinations and wondered if given the chance would they trade places with me. My guess is yes. Nothing like being out with mother nature and feeling the sense of quietness that envelopes both your mental and physical being.
Here is what I saw.

Sunrise

As I was about to leave I noticed a fish that had surfaced and captured this scene of mist rising above the water as the fish rose to catch his breakfast.
Well after a lot of persistence by the dogs I caved and took them on an outing to Jordan Park. They loved the open space and duly left their marks on several trees and even helped fertilize the grass that is sure to turn green as the temperatures rise. They had almost as fun as I did watching their little brains just explode with all the new sites and smells.
